Cross-Country Skiing
Craftsbury offers some of the finest cross-country skiing in the nation, with
the most reliable snow in the northeast. Two ski centers, The Craftsbury
Outdoor Center and The Highland Lodge combine to offer more then
250km of groomed trails. The trail systems converge here at The Craftsbury Inn.
We will be happy to obtain your trail passes for you. After a good breakfast or
lunch, ski right out our back door for a great day of winter fun.
Downhill Skiing
Although best known for its cross-country skiing, Craftsbury is located an
equal distance between three great downhill resorts. Stowe, Jay Peak, and
Burke Mountain are each only a short 45 min drive. Try one or all three.
Three Quebec downhill resorts are about an hour away.
Watersports
From the simple pleasures of splashing in our lakes or wetting a fly in our
many rivers, to a professionally staffed sculling program and canoe rentals,
Craftsbury has it all. Numerous lakes with swimming and boat access are locate
within a few minutes of the inn. The Black River flows through the inn property.
Cycling
Craftsbury and the Northeast Kingdom offer great cycling adventures for all
skill levels, both touring and mountain biking. Picturesque villages and farms
mix with spectacular scenic views to provide day after day of great cycling.

Fitness
Complete spa facilities are available at The Coach Works, a
short drive from the inn, and running
programs are available at the nearby Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
Trail & Sleigh Rides
No matter the time of year, Wild Branch Horse Adventures will provide
great outdoor fun with hourly rates or catered trail rides. In the winter, a
nighttime sleigh ride along lantern lit trails will make for the perfect
romantic evening.
Bird Watching & Nature Walks
The Craftsbury area is located on a major flyway and is home (permanent or
temporary) to many species of birds all year. Deer, Moose, Bear & Beaver
abound. Enjoy the river frontage and nature trails located on the inn's five
acres or wander farther a field through the spectacular Vermont countryside.
Rest & Relax
Whether relaxing with a good book in our comfortable living room or
getting a little sun in a lounge chair overlooking the river, The Craftsbury Inn
is the perfect place to get-away-from-it-all. For the slightly more energetic, a
round of croquet with afternoon tea or a spirited game of pétenque under the
maple trees might be in order.
Sightseeing
Enjoy the beautiful Vermont countryside as you travel from one picturesque
village to the next. Visit antique shops, woolen mills, cheese factories, and so
much more. If you are here during Fall Foliage, every turn in the road will
bring a new riot of spectacular color.
